  • Bijoya Dashami is the celebration of righteousness over evil which is celebrated on the tenth day of the Hindu lunar month called Ashwin.
    Ashwin is celebrated as Bijoya Dashami or Dussehra.The day is basically the celebration of the victory of the goddess.
  • The idol of the mother goddess is worshipped for five days and on this day, Durga is believed to leave for her husband, Shiva’s abode in the Himalayas. The idol is immersed in the Ganges on this day and the festivities of greeting each other and distributing sweets begin. The young seek the blessings of the elders on this occasion.
  • The woman bid farewell to the mother goddess with Sindoor khela(applying vermilion) to the goddess and other married ladies.

    • What is Grand Immersion or Vijay Dashmi ?
      Vijay Dashmi or Grand Immersion is the tenth day of Navartri festival and the celebration of good over evil, the Goddess killed Mahishasura (Demon king). It is also celebrated as the day on which Lord Rama achieved victory over Ravana, he was the ten headed demon king of Lanka. In Bengal, Vijay Dashmi is celebrated as the last day of Durga Puja where the idols of Goddess Durga are immersed in the water.
    • What is the capacity of the Vessel, does it have Air Conditioning?
      We do not use bigger Vessel for Grand Immersion as they cannot be taken closer tp the ghats however we use the vessel Ahalya which has the capacity of 120 passengers and can easily manoeuvre closer to the ghats, we will be covering upto eight ghats Babu ghat, Princep ghat, Gwalior Ghat, Ramkrishnapur Ghat
    • Do you show live Immersion of the Goddess or via visual display?
      We want you experience the live Immersion of the Mother Goddess than the visual display which is like watching television at home therefore we show the live Immersion of the Goddess.
    • Is there a pick up and a drop available ?
      No, there is no pick up, you will come on your own to the Millennium park Jetty Ghat at 6 pm (Reporting time), the vessel will leave the shore at 6:30 pm. As there will be difficulty in finding a transportation after 10 pm therefore we are giving a Nodal drop to the following Nodal points: Garia, Rashbehari, Karunamoyee and Dunlop.
    • What if I miss the vessel?
      There will be No Refund if you miss the vessel / No show. As the roads may be crowded on the last day of the festival therefore we suggest you to start early from home and reach on time.
    • What is the exact time for Immersion?
      The Immersion starts after 4:30 pm however most of the Immersions take place in late evening.
    • Why your rates differ from others?
